Activities & Programs

Life at Rabia Sanctuary brings together education, wellbeing, values, practical development and meaningful experiences, so that every child grows up with confidence.

Health & wellbeing

Looked after before anything else

Every child has a full medical checkup on the day they arrive, so nothing that has gone untreated stays untreated. After that, checkups continue every quarter.

The point of the routine is simple: health problems are found early, while they are still easy to deal with, and no child has to wait until something hurts before anyone notices.

Education & learning

From the kitchen table to the classroom

Children who arrive behind do not go straight into a classroom. They begin with home-based tuition and grooming at the Sanctuary, until reading, writing and the rhythm of a school day feel manageable.

From there they move into formal schooling, and every child in the home is now enrolled. Back at the house, a dedicated library and computer lab carry the learning on after school hours.

Faith & values

Growing up with faith and good manners

Daily prayers and Quran learning are part of the ordinary shape of the day here, not a separate lesson slotted into the timetable.

Alongside them, the children learn the everyday things that matter just as much — how to speak to people, how to be patient, how to look after one another. Islamic values, good manners, character and discipline grow out of the same habit of turning up for each other every day.

Life skills & personal development

Learning to look after themselves

A good deal of growing up is practical. The children learn personal hygiene and manners, take on everyday responsibilities around the home, and pick up the basic vocational skills that make a person useful to themselves and others.

None of it is dramatic. It is simply the groundwork for becoming capable, responsible and independent — so that leaving one day feels like a step forward rather than a drop.

Sports, creativity & recreation

Childhood, not just care

Sport and play, art and creative sessions, outings to places like Safari Park, and celebrations at home — the part of growing up that makes the memories.

Community & volunteer activities

The house is not closed off

Visiting university volunteers join the children for art, play and creative sessions, and family, friends and well-wishers come to the home for its celebrations. Meeting people from outside is part of how the children learn to meet the world.
